Lucky last water colouring...

Hello again to all out there in blog land, I hope you have had a good week and managed to get some ink on those fingers. I have just a few more pictures of the water colouring I did a while ago for our team meeting, I have some other projects I am looking forward to sharing with you next week, so keep posted for those.
This next picture is of a card which I C.A.S.E.d from one I had seen on Pinterest, the original was made by Judy May. I really enjoyed playing about with this Stamp "Pleasant Poppies" as it really lends itself to be watered coloured and you can get such good effects with all the different Stampin' Up! colouring mediums. I used the ink pads and aqua brush for this sample and for the card below.

This next card was made using the Stampin'Up! "watercolour wonder crayons" which unfortunately have now been discontinued from our range due to manufacturing problems, which is a real shame as I find them just great to use and I will most definitely miss using them in demonstrations but will keep them in my stash for personal use.
I hope you all have a great weekend, lots of inky hugs from .......

Water colour effects....

Hi there and welcome to another watercolour post, this should be the last for a while but I do hope you have enjoyed having a look at the samples I made for watercolour demonstration that I did for my Upline Ngaire and her team. I also did this demo for my team too.
I must say the friendships I have formed whilst being a part of the Stampin'Up! family are all very special to me and I am richly blessed with wonderfully talented people around me who inspire me every day. If you would like to join this incredible journey with me and learn endless techniques while making friends and having some inky fun, please feel free to contact me about becoming a part of the Stampin'Up! family. I'd love to answer any questions you may have and tell you all about the fantastic join up special which you can take advantage of til the 30th of May 2013, so don't delay and contact me soon for further obligation free information.

Using the Greeting card kids stamp set, I created this card and did some colouring demonstrations using various Stampin'Up! mediums such as Water colour wonder Crayons, Ink pads and Aqua brush and Stamp and write markers with a blender pen.
This card was inspired by seeing one by Vicki B of "it's a stamp thing"on Pinterest. I used a different scallop circle to layer mine on but essentially it's a pretty close copy.
This is a close up of the image I painted with an aqua brush, picking up ink from the lid of my ink pads. the ones below were stamped in Stazon ink, then coloured using different mediums, showing that even if you don't have all the various mediums, you can still get a very similar effect.
I hope you like them, lots of inky hugs from ......

Some more water colouring...

Hi there fellow paper crafters, I've had a busy weekend with a big scrapbooking class at my place and being invited out to eat with friends, I am feeling very blessed indeed.
I promised to upload some more of the cards which I made for the water colouring demo I did at my upline's last meeting, so without further ado here there are.

Once again the Pleasant Poppies back ground stamp was used, I stamped and coloured the image twice, once for cutting out and layering on top of the first image using my aqua brush and ink from my stamp pads, the colours I used were Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Lucky limeade. I also used some Crumb Cake ink with the French Foliage set to stamp up the back ground of the water colour paper, as well as painting around the outside of the poppies with some very diluted Pool Party to give it more of an authentic water colour look. I did some faux stitching using my mat pack and paper piercer after which I used the Crumb cake marker to draw in the stitches. The Crumb Cake card stock has been dry embossed twice with two different folders and the lacy edging is just some crochet trim which I gathered up and adhered to the card with sticky strip, the ribbon is Cherry Cobbler seam binding. All products used are from Stampin'Up! so if you would like to replicate it please feel free to contact me to order the supplies needed or place the order yourself on my website here: Shop Now

I found this card on my Internet surfing travels and it was designed by the very talented Teneale Williams, a fellow Australian Stampin'Up! Demonstrator. I hope I did it justice, I really enjoyed making it and was quite pleased with the finished project.

Water colouring

Hello there oh crafty ones ;-)
I have been busy with lots of interesting new projects and one of them was a water colouring demonstration which my very lovely upline Ngaire had asked me to do for her team. Ngaire had also asked if I could use the Stamp called Pleasant Poppies from Stampin'Up! of course, I accepted the challenge but with very little extra time on my hands I took the easier route of C.A.S.Eing some pretty cards I had seen on my Internet travels.
So, as I can take credit for making all the cards below, some of them were designed by extremely talented stamping artists. I will place their names beside the appropriate pictures for you.
I was super nervous about doing the demo for the Stamparoos as they are all very talented and most of them very seasoned stampers, I wasn't sure I would be able to show them anything they didn't already know or had seen before. However they were all very kind and so thankful for me coming along to their meeting and assured me that they all learnt something new about the art of water colouring so that made me feel really happy ;-)
Because there are quite a few pictures, I will perhaps do this in two parts, so please enjoy the first set of photos and if you have any questions about the techniques and mediums used please feel free to ask. I have been asked by some people to do a video tutorial on water colouring with Stampin' Up! products, which is how I did these, so keep posted! when I have time I will put one up for you.

This one was designed by Heather Klump of Downstairs designs, I didn't have the same ribbons or sentiment stamps as her so used what I had on hand, I stamped the Pleasant Poppies stamp from Stampin'Up! onto Crumb cake card stock using Versa mark ink, which I then heat embossed with white embossing powder, I coloured in the image with our stamp and write markers, using Real Red and Old Olive and a little bit of Cherry Cobbler to deepen the red in some parts for shadows. Because the embossed image resists ink, you can colour straight over the lines and just wipe of the excess ink when your finished which makes this a very quick card to make. I also used a white gel pen to draw in the lines around the image.

As you can see this one is pretty much the same as above but I used a wash of Whisper white craft ink using my aqua brush to coat the area I was colouring in first. This gave the card stock a lighter base to work from as I wanted to watercolour the poppies with ink from my stamp pads using the aqua brush, I used Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzaz and a little Summer Starfruit for the center of the flowers.

Okay, that's all for today, but if I get time tonight, I'll upload a few more and if not tonight I promise to do more tomorrow. Hope you like them, lots of inky hugs from.....

Colour refresh time...

DO YOU DREAM IN COLOUR? WE DO!

Announcing our Colour Refresh! We love colour and we know that you do too. Colour is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with colour trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colours, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 we did a big colour renovation and shared our plans for smaller colour refreshes every three to five years to keep our colours on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalogue will include 10 new colours (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favourites, moving some colours around, and introducing three brand-new colours, so take a look!
...
Beginning on 4 April 2013, all retiring/discontinued colour products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. So if you want to stock up on your favourite colours, please do so sooner rather than later and this includes RE-INKERS for your ink pads!!! You can order online yourself via my website here or you can place your order with me by phone or email.
