Cased birdie for Margaret...

Hello fellow stampers,
Today I thought I would show you a card which I sent to Margret C who is in the same WA stamping group as myself, every month we have a card swap and we are allocated a partner to send a card to, this month I had two partners which is nice because that meant I received two cards back. I C.A.S.E.d.(copy and share everything) this card from SCS, it is in the Artfully Asian section and the one I cased is by a lady who's stamping name is Itsapassion, she actually cased it from someone else too. I changed it around a bit and the colours are a bit different too. I hope Margaret liked it as much as I enjoyed making it for her.I did another version of it which you can see above this one, can you spot the differences? my hubby thought I was going mad when I told him they were different, he said "why would you take photos of two cards that are the same?"
I will upload the cards I got sent from the two ladies I was partnered with at a later date.
I have a class here on Saturday, so maybe I'll show you what we all got up to next week some time. I hope you are all having a very nice week and your fingers are inky! Take care all and thanks for visiting with me, lots of inky hugs from...

Cards made with the chalkboard technique...

Hi again,
Well as promised here are the cards which I made up for my club ladies to make today, we all had a lovely day and everyone made their cards with ease. I haven't done much with this technique before but really enjoyed making these cards, I'm sure I will use this one again. I think my favourite would have to be the second one in Pale Plum and Perfect Plum, I used the background stamp called Floral for both cards and I think I managed to persuade a certain someone who will remain nameless, that it's quite a pretty stamp and worth investing in. I used Whisper White ribbon for both cards, but the second one I died the ribbon with some Pale Plum re-inker and water. I was really pleased with how even the colour came out and how close it was to the card stock. The punches used were the double rectangle for threading the ribbon through, the round scallop, the 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 circles, the corner rounder, Scallop edge and the slot for the ribbon on the top card. I hope you like them, they were simple but fun to make. Thanks for dropping by, lots of inky hugs from ...

Chalk Board effect..

Hello blog surfers,
I've just come back from doing my morning training and walk/jog, I'm really pleased with my progress and hope I will continue to find it easier the more I do. Above you can see an A4 sheet of basic black CS which I have covered in images using the Chalk Board effect. I used the stamp set called Heartfelt Thanks, it's one that is in the SU starter kit and I had decided to change it for another set, at a later date I had borrowed this set from my ever talented upline Makeesha and of course I fell in Love with it, so I ended up getting it in with my awarded sets which I earned for reaching one of my Stampin Start goals. I have been with Stampin'Up! for a year now and in that time I have been given so many free sets and various other gifts, I can definitely recommend joining if you have a stamping habit! I digress, sorry! I was meant to be telling you about the Chalk Board effect, well you ink up your image with some Whisper White Craft ink (pigment, embossing) then stamp it onto some dark coloured Card stock, I've used basic black in this instance. Then using coloured chalks from your Stampin' Pastels box (or similar) you twist your applicator into your chosen colours and dab them onto your white image, you don't ave to worry about the ink drying first. When you have covered all of your images in coloured chalks you can gently swipe any excess chalk from your images with a dry tissue, there is no need to seal this technique as the ink seems to hold the chalks in place. I have made some cards up for my stamp club to do today, so I will show those latter on or tomorrow. Take care and thanks for visiting, lots of inky hugs from....

Happy Valentines day for yesterday...

Hi Everyone,
I know it's a day late for Valentine's day but I didn't want to post these until my DH had received his card. "this is where you all go AHhhh! I made this card with the wonderful set called Summer by the sea, it's certainly one of my favourite sets as I love to water colour. I used a mask to do the sun set which I sponged over with Summer Sun, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie classic ink. The top card is the finished one which I gave to hubby, it is mounted onto some Old Olive and then onto some Creamy caramel card stock. I put seven Old Olive eyelets down the side with my trusty Crop-a-dile ' love that thing'. I hope you like them, thank you for visiting with me, take care and happy stamping. Lots of inky hugs from...

Scissor cleaners.

Hello everyone,
First up I would like to send out my thoughts and prayers to all who are involved with the awful bush fires in Vic. at the moment as well as the flood victims here in Australia. It's so hard to believe that one part of the country is under water and the other is in flames. I truly hope that these disasters will soon be under control and people can start to rebuild their lives again. I spoke to my family in England last night and they are all suffering in the cold snow..Go figure!!
I haven't really got any new stuff to show you today so I have posted one of the little pressies that I have put in with my customers orders a few times. It is a little poem which I found on the web one day about cleaning your scissors after using them to cut out your new stamps, ?I can't remember the name of the American lady who wrote it, but I will search it out for you and edit this post with her name. I put the poem inside these little pouches along with two little steri wipes, the alcohol wipes are like magic at getting off the sticky adhesive which gets left behind on your scissors sometimes. Oh well take care and spare a thought for all those caught up in the Australian disasters at the moment. Lots of inky hugs from..

Some more of home...

Hi All, I hope this finds you all well. I have been a bit busy of late with classes and family so please forgive me for not posting for a while. The top photo is of the view which my mother and I saw every day whilst walking Penny my dad's dog, it's really pretty in Cornwall and many people who visit England forget to leave the 'Big Smoke' and travel down to the South West. So please take a trip that way if you get over to England and go and meet the friendly Cornish folk. The second picture above is of my Brother John, he is the eldest of my siblings and has a gorgeous little antique shop in the town of Falmouth. If you scroll back to the picture of my brother Marcus you will see how similar they look! Oh well take care all and happy stamping, lots of inky hugs from....
