A card in a box..
Hi there paper crafting friends,
I hope if you are in Australia you are keeping warm on these wet Wintery and cold days. I find the best thing to do when its cold and wet outside is to stay inside and play with all my craft stuff, and I certainly have a lot to choose from!
So I thought for today's post I would show you one of the recent cards I made using the "Card in a Box" template which has been doing the rounds on the net recently. I made a couple of birthday cards for friends using this template and this first one uses alcohol markers for the colouring and the image is a Tilda from Magnolia stamps, my hubby hates Tilda's with a passion because of them having no mouths or noses. How do you feel about them?
I'll put up the other card I made using this template and Stampin'Up!© products tomorrow, so come back and visit soon to see the next project.

Colouring and birthday cards...
Hi there stampin' friends, I hope you are all about to enjoy a wonderful weekend of leisure. I have a birthday party to attend on Saturday and a Scentsy party to do on Sunday. So a full weekend ahead for me, I thought you might like to see the card I made for my friend's fiftieth, I used the new hostess stamp set called Bloom with Hope and I absolutely love it! I also used the new Stampin'Up! Blendabilities to colour it in. They are super fun to play with and are alcohol based ink which makes them easy to blend. They come in packs of three so you don't have to search for the correct colour to match the one you're using as the pack includes one light, one medium and one dark shade of the one colour. I hope that made sense?? The packs I used were Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry.
The inspiration I got for this card came from seeing a card on Pinterest by the very talented Sandi MacIver, she had used the lovely new stamp called Blended Bloom and different colours but I didn't have that stamp and my friend loves Purple hence the colour change. Hope you like it. ;-)

Butterfly from Utah..
Hi there crafty friends, I have been having lots of fun creating with some new products from our 2014/2015 catalogue but haven't yet done photos. So Until I get them loaded up, I thought I'd share an oldie I made after returning from Utah last year where I was lucky enough to attend the US Stampin' Up! convention.
Shelli Gardner our CEO and co founder of the company always graces us with her amazing talent on stage and does some amazing creations, this card is a C.A.S.E. of one of the cards she made using the beautiful stamp called Swallowtail. Who doesn't love butterflies right!
I hope you like it.....
lots of inky hugs, til next time...

Winter pop-up gardens.....
Hello there lovely paper crafters, I know it's been a while yet again since my last post and I'm not going to bore you with details. I'm sure you would rather see some crafting and colour to brighten up your Winter day (if you happen to live in Australia that is).
I've been running some fun classes at home where my stampin' friends and I have been exploring the world of alcohol markers, we started simply and made these awesome pop-up cards with pretty flowers inside, some of my friends wanted an alternative to colouring so I made two versions of the one card, the first uses pure stamping and ink pads, along with the "Flower shop" ,"Petite Petals" and "Papillon Potpourri" stamp sets. The Bitty Butterfly, Pansy and Petite Petals punches were also used so no fussy hand cutting (Bonus!). The second card uses the "Flower Shop" set as well as the bird builder and the Elegant butterfly punch along with the other punches used on the first card. The flowers were all coloured-in using alcohol markers for that vibrant colour.
I love both versions and had heaps of fun with these interactive cards, they can be all flattened to fit snugly into their sleeve and then I made a special envelope for them to fit into for mailing and when the recipient receives them, they can open them up to see their own little Winter garden of colour.
I found the idea for these cards on the net and also got some great help from a fellow demo called Libby Dyson who has made a wonderful video on how to make them, I altered the measurements slightly to fit my version. The backs of the sleeves have a White card on them to write your sentiment and you can also fit a gift card neatly behind the pop-up flowers for a special extra.
I hope you like them too.

Best of... Autumn stamp set.
Well it certainly doesn't feel like Autumn here, we've actually been in the pool tonight to cool off! A lovely balmy evening, enjoying the stars.
Stampin'Up have just released a new "Best Of" stamp set, I personally love this one and will really enjoy colouring in those apples in the bucket and that gorgeous pumpkin, the leaf will be great for backgrounds on scrap pages and cards alike. The Autumnal tree with it's leaves falling will make great cards for all occasions including those hard to make sympathy cards.
You can purchase your "Best Of" sets from Here and if you would like any further information about current specials please visit my web site here to view all the latest Stampin'Up! news and my online shop.
Best of 25 Years Stamps
As part of our 25-year anniversary celebration, we're bringing back some of our favourite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 11 sets, which will release—one set per month—until April 2014. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image! Check back here monthly to download a flyer for a new Best of stamp set, and be sure to share it with your customers.

Colour swatches from the garden....
Hi there inky people, well it sure has been a while since my last post and I'm sure by now you're well used to me disappearing from the country and returning with promises of not leaving it so long ever again!
I had another one of those years where time just ran away with me and trips over seas just took their toll on any time I might of spent getting inky and crafty.
Since my return from the UK where I was attending my dear father's funeral and catching up with friends and relatives, I must confess I found it really difficult to even enter my craft den, let alone actually create anything. So I just realised it was probably best not to push the subject and go about life attending to other things, well this lead me to cleaning up my pool garden and potting up 32 hanging baskets, as well as filling all the garden beds with new soil and some new plants. I was most surprised to find that I couldn't wait to get out there every morning before the sun was too hot to water and dead head all the flowers that were blooming and still are I might add.
I really found a special sense of peace spending that time alone before the rest of the house awoke, and the plants rewarded me time and time again. It's true what people say, that you always feel closer to God when you're close to nature, I always felt the same when riding my horse out on my own in the country lanes of Devon in England before we came here to live in Australia.
Now instead of Pheasants, foxes and badgers on route, I listen to the black and red cockatoos, galahs, crickets and my beloved magpies singing their very distinctive warbling song, we also have a little family of very cute and mischievous bandicoots living on our property, they're great fun to watch and have become quite used to us being outside in the evening when they're playing, digging for grubs and having a quick drink from the pond.
I'm pleased to say I have now been able to return to my "Craft cave" as my hubby calls it, and enjoy some stamping and colouring etc. I thought I'd show you yesterday's project first, along with some of my pretty flowers which inspire me with their magnificent colour palettes every day.
and here's the first attempt at some colouring with my copic markers and my newly purchased Saturated Canary image called "Honey" isn't she gorJus!
