Crayon resist #2

Happy Friday to you all, I'm pleased to say that my youngest daughter is well on the road to recovery. I posted crayon resist #1 yesterday, so here is number two. I used the set called Scribble this, which is better known in the US as Doodle this. All I can say is, it's a good job they changed it's name for here! I stamped up the images with Chocolate chip ink onto white gloss card, before cutting them out to put onto the now retired Soft Sky card stock, I had also stamped the scrolls from this set in Choc chip onto the soft sky, you can barely see in this photo, but I also used the matching wheel to this set all over the background of this card, using the same colour ink. I used the wonderful scallop punch along the edge with choc chip card stock and a little dot of white gel pen in each scallop. Thanks for visiting with me, have a nice weekend. Lots of inky hugs from ...

Crayon Resist..

Hello again, I haven't really had time of late to take any photos of work, so I thought I'd upload a couple of cards that were made a while ago with one of my groups. We do a technique every month and then over the next two weeks make a card using that technique, this technique was crayon resist, it's really easy and quite effective. I used the stamp set called Embrace life and the ink colours are Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose, old Olive and believe it or not a little bit of Tempting Turquoise. I used Basic Black to stamp the images onto some white gloss card stock, before mounting it onto some Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive card stock. I'll try and post the other crayon resist card tomorrow. Take care and give your kids a cuddle, one of mine has been very sick the last few days and it makes you realise how precious they are. Thanks for visiting, lots of inky hugs from...

The last baby cards.

Hi All, Well here are the last two baby cards we made a couple of weeks ago. The big baby Onesie is designed by the very clever Lauren Meader, I used Stampin'Up! punches to cut out the leg and arm holes as well as make the frilly collar and cuffs. It's super easy to make and is so effective, I used the now retired set called Bundle of joy to stamp the little teddy bear. The little tiny card above has a mini onesie on it which I drew the little white frills on with a gel pen. It makes a good gift card to go with the big one above. Geoffrey Giraffe

Hello all, here's another of the baby cards we made a few weeks ago. I really liked this little guy, but unfortunately he is now retired along with the other cute critters in the set called Bundle of joy. Oh well, we now have some other really cute sets that are suitable for baby cards, so I'll have to use some of those for you. Thanks for stopping by, lots of inky hugs from...

Baby cards.

Hello fellow blog surfers,
A couple of weeks ago some friends joined me to make some baby cards and this is one of them, I used kraft card stock for this one, which I must admit is a colour I probably don't use enough. I wanted to keep the cards neutral so that people could re-produce them in pinks or blues accordingly. I used the set called "Wild About You" for this one, I also used "Curvy Verses" for the sentiment. I love those googly eyes on the croc! there was a fair bit of fiddly cutting out on this one, but it was worth it I think. I will be posting the other baby cards soon, so if you have a special little someone arriving soon, visit again. Thanks for stopping by, lots of inky hugs from...

Our long stay visitor...

Hi All,
What a week! I don't ever want to relive that one again, the good news is, my dad has been released from hospital and is at home in comfort with his little dog and my mum and brother to look after him. It has been such a stressful week and we had a very sad funeral to attend yesterday too. A young guy who has left behind a beautiful wife and unborn baby, he had an amazing send off with lots of friends and family, there was standing room only at the church.
I thought I'd lighten the atmosphere a little and show you this picture of Noah in my husbands brand new velvet lined banjo case. Noah was left with us for a five month period of time while my eldest daughter was of on one of her many round the world explorations. On her return at the end of Feb. she decided to move in with her long time boyfriend while they are both studying at uni. Well the boyfriend is allergic to cats, so we now have Noah on a more permanent basis, which is fine, but Coubah my BIG German Shepherd just wants to eat him, our other dog loves him and they both get on with each other. We don't have a cat flap and this means either myself or hubby getting up at all hours of the night to let Noah in and out for constitutionals etc. We have all fallen in love with him and he's a real character, very catty not very cuddly, not at all like the Birman cat we had in the UK. Poppy was very much a people cat and loved to be on your lap or sitting on the edge of the bath while you were soaking. Oh well, hubby must love him or he wouldn't of allowed him to sit in his banjo case "LOL" Take care all and have a wonderful and inky weekend. lots of inky hugs from .....

That Rooster is back in our yard!

Hi all, Well what a nice day I've had today. I had some friends over for their Technique Tuesday class, we made a card and spent the rest of the day just chatting. My brother rang me to tell me that dad is looking a little better after the third transfusion and is even getting his wicked sense of humour back. Apparently my dad said to my brother "this is the first time in two and a half years that I have no pain" So I guess it's all been worth it for him to say that. I'm a lot happier knowing my brother is home looking after mum and I may get some sleep tonight.
I made this card the same day as the other Rooster card I showed you yesterday, I used Stampin' Up! water colour crayons to colour him in and out lined him with a marker to make him pop a bit. The background is "smoosh" technique with Riding Hood red, Pink Pirouette, Chocolate chip and Creamy Caramel inks on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. This is mounted onto a piece of Ridding Hood red, then onto Basic Black and finally onto a piece of Very Vanilla Which I stamped the feathered scroll onto in Creamy Caramel. You can just spot the script in the background of the Rooster and the little Paris postage mark to the right hand side, these are both from the Rustic Rooster set. Thanks for visiting, take care and if you can hug your dad. Lots of love from....

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

A bit of happier news, I made this card last week with my new stamp set called "Rustic Rooster" I LOVE HIM! I know he isn't every ones choice, but I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw it. It's no secret that I love birds, so I guess it was a no-brainer that I would choose this one. It is a level two free hostess set, so you could also have fun with this feathered creature if you so wish, all you have to do is book a party and when your sales reach the level two required amount you can choose this set or any other level two or one set, along with up to $100.00 to spend on absolutely anything in the new Idea book and Catalogue. If you are lucky enough to reach level three you can choose two sets from level one,or one level one and a level two set or a level three set, along with $200.00 or more to spend in the catalogue, depending on your sales.
This card uses all the stamps that are included in the Rustic Rooster set, I have used a couple of the new yummy in-colours too, Riding Hood Red and Tango Tangerine. I used some Crystal Effects on the Rooster to give him more texture and a glossy feathered look. So what do you think?
If you would like to know any more about booking a party or getting hold of a new catty, just contact me. charmaineblck@yahoo.com.au Take care and I'll show you another Rooster soon.

My Dear Dad..

As some of you are already aware, my dad has had his hip operation in the UK last Thursday. Well he didn't do so well on the first night and had to have a blood transfusion, he was very poorly and confused on the second and third day. I rang home again yesterday and mum said he had picked up a little and was now talking sense again. They have moved him to his own room right outside the nurses station, so he is well looked after. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been praying for him and wishing him well for me, so THANK YOU! This photo was taken on the day I was leaving England to return home, we were both very emotional that day and neither of us wanted to say goodbye. I miss him very much and hope I can get back to see him again soon. Lots of inky hugs from.....

Fresh Cuts.

Hello all, I am enjoying a restful day today after having a very busy week with classes and parties. I also had the added stress of knowing my dear dad was in having his double hip operation yesterday, I rang mum last night and he came through the op ok and was asleep when she rang the hospital. Thank you to everyone who has sent up good thoughts and prayers for him. I had a chance to finally put some ink on a few of my new stamp sets and this is one of them. It is called Fresh cuts and lends itself well to a lot of different ink techniques, the one I have used this time is called the "Smoosh" technique, I loaded a piece of acrylic with ink from all the new In-Colour stamp pads, then spritzed it with some water, then put a piece of very vanilla card stock into the ink and smooshed it around. Then stamped my image on the top of these colours in Choc chip ink. I used the same technique on card stock before cutting out the flower with the five petal punch, I decorated both sides of the envelope with stamps from the same set and it is now winging it's way to a fellow member of the stamp club I belong to, I hope she likes it. Oh well, enjoy your Easter and I'll post some pics of another new set tomorrow. Lots of inky hugs from .....

Number three of Bodacious bouquet...

Hello fellow crafty peoples,
Well as promised here is number three of the Bodacious Bouquet class. It has a pop up bouquet in the middle, I was really pleased with how this one turned out and I think all my friends who had a play that day really liked it too. It has a mechanism that makes all the flowers fold on themselves when the card is closed, then they all pop up when the card is opened for a nice surprise! I also used one of the free sale-a-bration sets called "Yummy" which I thought went really well with this card. The colours used are the new Riding hood red, Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss. Again, the technique used for stamping was "Rock-n-Roll". Thanks for visiting, lots of inky hugs from .......

Number two Bodacious bouquet...

Hello all,
As promised here is number two of the three cards made with BB, this one is a fairly close CASE of one I saw on SPS, the original was made by a Canadian demonstrator called Heather Summers. I have changed the colours and a few other things too. I really didn't get much of a chance to play with this set, as I hadn't owned it that long before it went on the retirement list. Oh well, that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed your visit with me, take care. Lots of inky hugs from ....

Bye Bye Bodacious ....

Hi all, Well last week we said a fond fair well to Bodacious Bouquet. We made three cards at our get together and this is the first one, I used three new in-colours on this card and their names are: Kiwi kiss, Riding hood red and Pink pirouette, what do you think of them? I really love Kiwi kiss and I'm starting to fall in love with all the other new in-colours "As ya do". I also gave my crimper a bit of a work out on the piece of Riding hood red card stock. Oh well that's one of three made with Bodacious Bouquet, I can't wait to show you the third one, but I'll show you number two tomorrow. Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend, lots of inky hugs from....
