Trendy Trees.

Good morning to you all,
It's a very cold morning here, but I am very cosy with the wood burner on. I thought I'd write a quick hello and post a photo for you before I complete all my prep for tomorrow's big day.
This card was made using the one of the sets that SU very kindly gave to us at convention this year. It's called trendy Trees and is really nice to use. It has a matching wheel which I have used along the bottom of the card in Versa mark ink, the sentiment is from the set. I used my crimper to make the choc chip card crinkly and some soft hemp thread in a bow. The card is Kraft and I used a square of choc chip and whisper white to mount the tree on, which is sat inside a punched out 1 and 3/8 square hole. Hope you like it, thanks for visiting. Lots of inky hugs from......

Fifth Ave Rose.

Hello all,
Well I've been good this morning, I've done all my chores and even put another red wine and beef casserole on the go, the last one was so popular I thought I'd give them another one instead of having to get take away AGAIN! because of all the prep for the Stamp-a-thon I've kinda neglected my dear daughter and hubby's food needs! Of course the beauty of the casserole is I can now leave for the day and ignore it until dinner time tonight, that gives me time to get on with ...Yes you guessed it more cutting! I'm getting really excited about Sat. and I really hope and pray that all will go well and everyone really enjoys themselves.
Oh well, better tell you about the photo, it is of another project that was done quite some time ago, I received one of these gift cards from a swap at convention and I just changed the colours a bit. They're very easy but very effective. The rose is of course from that beautiful set called Fifth Ave, take care all, lots of inky hugs from .....

A little Gable box.

Hello all,
I didn't forget you yesterday, I was at Makeesha's house with Lou and we were cutting and packing lots of goodies for the Stamp-a-thon on Sat. I'm really impressed with how much we have already done, many hands make light work, Lou's good friend Vicky came along to help pack projects too so that made things move along like a production line, great work girls!
Now, I thought I'd show you one of the projects my dear fiends and I made at my place a few weeks ago, it's another 3D item. It's a little gable box from our great Idea book and catalogue, it uses our beautiful new designer paper from the pack called Tea Party, the stamp set used is called Sweet stems on page 85 of the catty. I used the Scallop circle punch and the 1and 3/8 and the 1and1/4 circle punches inside it. Hope you like it, lots of inky hugs from...

Arrr mi heaties!

Some of you may already know, but for those of you who don't...That title was said with a real Cornish accent, just like the pirates who used to hide their booty in caves along the coast line. I'm from Cornwall and my dear dad has a wonderful Cornish accent, so when ever I talk to him on the phone I come off sounding just like him. The stamp used for this card is an old retired one from SU, I borrowed it from one of my very dear friends, Ingrid. We used the thumping technique on this one, which turned out well on this oldie worldie stamp. I used a chocolate chip marker on the ship to highlight it more, but the other markers used on the map were close to cocoa and creamy caramel. It was a bit of fun, doing this one. I hope you liked it, lots of inky hugs from .....

Pacific Point.

Hello all you crafty people out there,
I've just got home from a big day of cutting! Yes, Makeesha, Louise and myself spent the day, cutting, chatting, eating, cutting, chatting, cutting, eating and so on and so on. I think we did a really good job and have done lots more than I thought we would actually get done. I will spend the rest of the weekend trying to complete two hundred projects I've brought back for home work. My poor Carl cutter has never seen so much card stock in one go. I think a new blade will be in order after I've finished and maybe a new cutting mat. Only a week to go.....
Oh well, I thought I'd show you one of the projects my lovely stamping friends came over to make a few weeks ago, it's a little gift box, just right for some chocies or alike. The card stock is Pacific Point and my DH loves it, he said " it's nice to see you use some bright vibrant colours for a change" Mmmm diplomacy was never his forte! Anyway, I hope you like it, thanks for visiting, lots of inky hugs from...

A cuppa for you.

Hi All,
My house smells of red wine today, not because I've been at the bottle! because I'm cooking a big pot of beef and red wine in my slow cooker and the smell is permeating through the house. Mmmm. I received a cute little swap at convention with a tea bag inside and it was from my very clever upline Makeesha, my friends really liked it so we all made version of it with different papers and colours etc. This is what we came up with, I used the sentiment from Occasional greetings and the paper is from Candy lane again. The card stock is Riding hood red from the new in-colours. Thanks for dropping by, please don't be shy and leave a comment or two, I love to see who has visited me. Lots of inky hugs from...

Faux silk number two..

Good morning fellow blog surfers,
I had a very pleasant evening catching up with all the Stampin'Up! demonstrators in Subi last night, the very talented number one demo in Australia "Ngaire" kindly organised a get together for us all at Waggamamas. It was so great to see all the faces and more that I had met on the plane on the way to convention in May. We all had a great meal and lots of chatter, then my Uba talented and very kind upline Makeesha took myself and the lovely Lou home, thanks for the therapy session Keesh!! Anyhoo, I digress, here is another of the faux silk cards that were made at a technique Tuesday class a couple of months ago. I used the set called Embrace life, which has a very oriental flavour to it. Take care all, lots of inky hugs from....

A gift card.

Hi All,
I hope this finds you all well, I thought after all the pink and frilly of the stationary box you might need a bit of classic, so here is a gift card holder which was made using our "just the right shape" envelopes from SU. the belly band uses the new in-colour ribbon called Kiwi Kiss and one of the images from the level one hostess gift set called Best yet and I think it IS the best yet! I use one from that set almost daily, they are just brilliant and there are 6 in the set, so go take a look in your catty at these if you've over looked them. I just cut the sentiment out using the scallop square on the angle to make it like a diamond shape, then just put two more behind to give it a border, the paper is from the pack called Urban Garden, I'm loving the papers we have this year, they're so versatile. I used the round tab punch for the little tab on the top of the gift card that you write on and the scallop edge for the bottom of the flap that opens. Oh well, that's it for today, take care, lots of inky hugs from...

Lucky Last...

Hi All, These are the last two photos of what's inside the stationary box. There are four of each size card or tag and these little guys are 3"x3" otherwise known as "Love note size" I really love making these little cards and they're good to just put with a pressie or in with a letter to a friend.
As before all the cards are stamped with images from the "Friends 24/7" set and all the paper is from the Candy Lane collection, found at the back of your current Stampin'Up! catalogue with all the other yummy designer papers. I've used the scallop circle punch to go around the bird along with a couple of other circle punches, the little chocolate bow on the bird card has been done using the handy little double rectangle punch, it's a great way to tie the perfect bow without actually having to tie anything. If you want to know how this great cheat works, just drop me an e-mail and I'll give you the low-down! the other things that you can see in the original photos of this box are a little postage stamp holder, a covered note book held in with gorgeous Riding hood red taffeta ribbon and a pen with matching designer paper inside. If you you would like to learn how to make one of these stationary boxes just ping me an e-mail. Take care, lots of inky hugs from...

What's inside???

Well here I am awake before the rest of the house, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to show you some more of what's inside the stationary box. You'd be amazed at what you can fit in this little magic unfolding box, today I've posted another of the C6 size cards and some of the little tags, theses all have their own little pockets to fit in. I used some of the new chocolate chip Patterns paper on the card above and still using the Friends 24/7 set I water coloured the flower with the ink in the the stamp pad palettes, I used Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette, with just a touch of Riding Hood red to put a stain in the center of the flowers. Don't you just love the names that SU come up with for their colours! For the pretty little tags, I've used some more paper from the "Candy Lane" collection and stamped the bird with Pink Pirouette, so as to be light enough to write your message over the top. The card stock used is Riding hood red and the ribbon "yep, you guessed it!!!" Riding Hood Red taffeta, which has that lovely vanilla edge to it. I hope you like them, there's more to come from this wonderful box, so tune in again to see what else hides within! Take care and thanks for stopping by. Lots of inky hugs from....

A little birdie told me...

Hi All, I hope this finds you enjoying your weekend. DH and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince this afternoon, he was a little disappointed at all the differences between the film and the book, I haven't read any of the books, so I was was just sitting back and being entertained with a story, which was fine by me.
I had loads of fun creating all the cards inside my stationary box and this is one of the four big ones that are in there. As with all the contents of this little compendium it has been made with the set called "Friends 24/7" I used the damask image all over the background of the card and some yummy paper from the "Candy lane" pack down the left hand inside edge, which sits just aside from the pretty eyelet border punched edge. I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. Take care, lots of inky hugs from...

Stationary box.

G'day everyone,
It's really cold here this morning and I think we're about to receive some rain. It's a good day to stay inside and get inky! I thought I would post some pictures of my stationary box and all it's cards and tags inside. I found the original pattern for this box on SCS by a very talented lady called Jackie Topa, however the original was made for American measurements, so I had to re-jig them all to suit our Aussie cards and envelopes. After a few nips and tucks this was what I came up with. I used some of the yummy papers from the pack called Candy Lane, it went well with the new in-colours of Riding hood red and Pirouette pink, I used the stamp set called Friends 24/7. I have really fallen in love with this set, it could be because there is a bird in it! I will upload some more close ups of the cards and contents soon. I hope you like it.
Take care all, lots of inky hugs from....

Faux Silk.

Hello all,
I hope this finds you well and with ink on your hands. I had fun showing some of my stamping friends how to do the Faux silk technique a couple of weeks ago, this is one of the cards we made using this technique. It's hard to see the real effect in this photo but it's really textured. I used the level one hostess gift set called "Organic Grace" It's one that didn't really fire my rocket, until I started playing with it. I love this fern stamp and I think it will get some more inking in the future. Oh well, I better be off to bed, as I have some lovely ladies coming over to stamp and chat tomorrow morning. Take care, lots of inky hugs from....

Better late than never!

Ok, I didn't keep my promise of putting this up a couple of days ago, well I had a little problem...NO computer again! It seems to be ok now and DH assures me everything is fine Mmmm. Any hoo, this is the third item that was made in the 'For Boys' class, I know it's a little frilly but it is blue! As I was late in putting this one up, I will add another photo today, so stay tuned. On another note, we have great news about the up-coming Stamp-A-Thon, it's full, I think we were a bit surprised that it filled up so soon, but we are all pleased that we should be able to donate a nice sum to the National Breast Cancer Research Fund. Now we just have to do all the cutting of your kits, I'm really excited about the projects we've chosen for you all to make and NO I'm not giving any clues. You'll have to wait and be surprised on the day.
Take care all and thanks for being so patient with my computer and me. Lots of inky hugs from....

More boys toys...

As promised, here is number two project from the "For boys" class I did, this image is from the "Loads of love" set and instead of colouring in the truck, I used a technique called Paper piecing, it's quite simply where you stamp you image onto some designer paper and cut it out. I used some SU jumbo antique brass eyelets to take the place of the wheels, I used some Kiwi Kiss card stock to mount it all on and some Baja breeze designer paper. I hope you like it, it was fun to make. I'll try and post number three tomorrow. Take care and thanks for stopping by, lots of inky hugs from .....

A tug boat...

Hello out there in blog land, I'm sure half of you may of thought that I had abandoned this here blog. I can assure you that won't happen, but things have been a little hectic again and there has been some sickness too. Enough of that, I have so many bits and pieces to show you and I thought that I would start with the items made in my "for boys" class. Everyone made this cute little tug boat from the set called Boat Loads of love, when you pull on the little tag, out comes a little row boat with the happy birthday message. It has been coloured in using an aqua brush and the in-colour ink pads, I also used the set called seeing spots for the backgound. I'll show you the other two projects that were made tomorrow, take care all and those of you in Australia, keep warm too! lots of inky hugs from...
